Burglary Suspects Arrested

PERTH AMBOY  – On Tuesday, 21 February 2012 at 11:53 am police responded to 753 Columbus Drive on a report of a burglary in progress. The reporting witness stated that she heard the doorbell ring; she looked out the window and saw a young looking Hispanic male at the door. The doorbell rang several more times. At this point in time the subject, who was looking back and forth as if to see if anyone was watching, walked to the south side of the house, at that time the witness called the police. The male subject then opened a rear screen door which was unlocked, but didn’t gain entry because the next door was locked. Witness then stated that the subject made a phone call on his cell phone and walked back to the front of the house. The subject was then seen walking north on Columbus Drive and get into a beige colored vehicle. That vehicle was occupied by another male and a female. That vehicle then turned around and headed south on Columbus Drive.

Police Sergeant Andy Montalvo who was checking the area found a beige colored vehicle containing two males and a female in front of 689 Columbus Circle. They were immediately detained until they could be identified. After a police investigation the three subjects were taken into custody.

Arrested were:

1) Josue Miguel Valdez of Johnstone Street, Perth Amboy, NJ

2) Fernando Antonio Colon, of First Street, Perth Amboy, NJ

3) Lesly Gamarra of 451 New Brunswick Avenue, Perth Amboy, NJ

All are being charged with Conspiracy to Commit Burglary. Valdez and Colon are also being charged with Attempt to Commit Burglary. Bail was set by Honorable Judge Maria Del Valle at $50,000 no 10%. Lesly Gamarra was ROR.
