Walmart Foundation Supports South Amboy Library and Early Literacy

SOUTH AMBOY – The Walmart Foundation has made a $1,000 grant to the Dowdell Library Foundation to support the Sadie Pope Dowdell Public Library of South Amboy. The Walmart Foundation contribution will be used to purchase two computers and early literacy software for the library’s children’s room.

Mimi Pichey, President of the Dowdell Library Foundation, noted, “The Walmart Foundation’s generous gift will provide opportunities for South Amboy children to develop reading skills at an early age. Studies show that encouraging reading at a young age increases success in school and in life. We are very grateful to the Walmart Foundation for its support.”

The Dowdell Library Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. For more information, visit www.DowdellFoundation.org or call (732)316-1078.
