When School Was School

What has happened to our school system? It used to be for the students to get an education and the teachers where there for the students behalf and the parents were pleased with the system.

I remember back in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s when school was school. The parents and teachers worked together with the school board and administration to help in many ways to improve the school. The board meetings were for the public to express concerns and the board members gave their best to the community. Also, the city council members and the Mayor put their concerns forward, too. Back then, it was for the school, students and community. Let’s remember one thing: students have futures; let’s give them a new world.
