Girl Scouts of America Celebrate 100 Years of Service

PERTH AMBOY – This year, Girl Scouts of America will be celebrating 100 years of Girl Scouting. Perth Amboy’s Girl’s Scout Service Unit, proudly part of one of the largest councils in the State of New Jersey – Council of Central and Southern New Jersey under the leadership of Linda Gallucci together with many outstanding volunteer troop leaders are gearing up for an amazing year.

One of their many scheduled activities planned is a special “Women of Distinction” Recognition luncheon which will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the ZPA, 281 Grace Street at 1 p.m. During this event, nine local community leaders will be recognized as they continue to make a difference in our community and in their career and inspire girls for the future:

Honorees include: Mayor Wilda Diaz – Keynote Speaker – Mayor of the City of Perth Amboy, Dr. Vivian Rodriquez – Asst. Superintendent of Education – Perth Amboy Board of Education, Eva Kucaba – Nurse Practitioner – Clinical Professor UMDNJ School of Nursing, Edna Dorothy Carty Daniel – Housing Commissioner – City Advocate/Activist – City of Perth Amboy, Judith Sandomierski – Police Officer – the City of Perth Amboy, Dianne Roman – Supervisor Senior Citizens – Perth Amboy Board Member – Perth Amboy Board of ED., Tara O’Brien – Director Shared Services – Global Delivery – Merck & Company, Loris Welch – Special Education Teacher – Perth Amboy High School, Lisa Richardson Hall – Co-Owner Eventfully Yours, Inc.

Help us recognize nine of the most outstanding female leaders in our community and support the Girl Scout Mission – building girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.

This is the Year of the Girl!
