PERTH AMBOY – At approximately 0810 hrs there was a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Neville St. and Groom St.  A Shamrock school bus transporting children to the James Flynn Elementary School was travelling westbound on Neville St. approaching Groom St. when a van driven by Roberto Delgado 46 travelling northbound on Groom St. failed to stop at the intersection causing the crash.

Injured during this crash were the bus driver Andres Aponte 59, the bus aide Brian Kun 49, van passenger Rexy Rios 35 and 7 children on the bus. The remaining 35 children were transported to Raritan Bay Medical Center for evaluation. All injuries are non serious at this time. All injured children were released to their parents from Raritan Bay Medical Center.

Summonses were issued to the driver of the van for Failure to Stop and Careless driving. PO David Sanchez is the investigating officer.
