LOOKING BACK: British Barracks

PERTH AMBOY – The British Barracks circa early 1900’s from a glass negative.  The Barrack’s was built for the British Military by the East Proprietors before the Revolultionary War.  It was torn down and the grammer school was built in 1909.  Presently the it serves as an adminstration building for the Perth Amboy Board of Education.  This photo is one of many being restored through the archiving project funded by the Middlesex County Cultural & Heritage Commision.
