Councilman William Schwarick

SOUTH AMBOY – Before last week’s South Amboy council meeting, William Schwarick was voted new Vice President by his fellow councilmen.

The vote was motioned by councilmen-at-large Mickey Gross and seconded by first ward councilmen Donald Applegate. Schwarick will replace former council Vice President Mark Noble, who resigned after March 21st council meeting.

Schwarick has been on the council since 2009, when he filled the vacated seat left by John “Jack” O’Connell. He was formerly the Director of Security for the Perth Amboy schools before retiring after 29 years.

The next South Amboy council meeting will be on April 18th at 7:00 PM.
