COMMUNITY VOICE: To Build a School

Where to build a high school? The BOE needs to wake up. Put the high school where it will do the most good. Where it has room to expand. You build schools where it is so congested. (Hall Avenue between start and dismissal). If an emergency arrives traffic is stopped.

Start thinking about the future. What’s going to happen no one knows. Come to BOE meetings. They should go to planning and zoning board meetings so we don’t have high density housing.

See why there are so many rentals so the tenants can take care of the early learning centers. Put the playing fields next to the schools. We’ll cut down on the busing, build a new school, do away with the street (Wilentz) – rehab the school, do away with rec areas – parking for Richardson and Shull. The current high school has no parking for the teachers. Although certain ones are privileged – they have their own key and drive and park between the school and trailers.

The vocational school has only a small lot for staff. Everyone else parks on the street. Ah for the old days when we walked to school and we had no problems. Just win the war!

P.S. At least if it snowed I could walk the tracks to the Copperworks when there was no work.
