Scholarships Awarded

HOPELAWN – The Ladies Guild of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church, Florida Grove Road in Hopelawn has awarded 3 Msg. Anthony Gambino scholarships for $3,500 each to area students. Rebecca Farley of Fords and Nicholas Makar of Port Reading will begin college in September and Jennifer Jennetty of Perth Amboy will begin her freshman year at Mother Seton High School. The scholarship is based on academics, leadership and community servcie.

Rebecca Farely attends MCVTS in Perth Amboy where she is Coordinator of the school anti-bullying campaign. She volunteers at the Ladies Guild Tricky Tray. Easter Basket and Giving Tree projects. At Holy Rosary she is an assistant teacher for CCD Classes and an Usher.

Nicholas Makar attends Woodbridge High School where he is a member of the National Honor Society and School Orchestra. he volunteers at the Ladies Guild Ensemble. Nicholas is working on his Eagle Scout project – a butterfly garden for Mathew Jago School in Sewaren.

Jennifer Jennetty is an 8th grader at Our Lady of Peace School in Fords where she tutors third grade students and is Financial Editor of the school yearbook. She volunteers at the Ladies Guild Tricky Tray, Easter Basket and Giving Tree projects. She also volunteers at the Woodbridge Greenable Museum at the Woodbridge Animal Shelter.
