The End of an Era

The local VFW Post 663 is finally going out of existence. One of the last acts will be the donation of $2500 to the Salvation Army at 433 State St. on Tuesday July 24, 2012 at 2 p.m. Commander Stanley Lease, 732-549-5265 will preside. As he did a few weeks ago. This was reported in the Guardian at that time. Our local post was mustered on March 15, 1921. It was named in honor of Sgt. John B. Egan of Perth Amboy. He was killed in France a month before the Armistice was signed on November 11, 1918.

All Our Love and Best Wishes,

Pete Book
