Perth Amboy High School Track to be Resurfaced

By Joseph L. Kuchie —

PERTH AMBOY – The Perth Amboy Board of Education voted to have the track surrounding the Perth Amboy High School football field resurfaced in August.

The project will cost $187,000 and will be funded from an insurance claim that the board received from last year’s hurricane. The city approved the lowest bid and the material that will be used will keep the track in good condition for at least 10-12 years.

Board secretary Derek Jess said that the field will be closed for 2-3 weeks in August so the resurfacing can be completed. He insisted that the board agree on a date so it does not interfere with any upcoming events and is done in time for the high school football and soccer teams to begin practicing.
