Volunteer Opportunities with the Municipal Alliance

PERTH AMBOY— Mayor Wilda Diaz announces a volunteer opportunity for our residents to serve on the Perth Amboy Municipal Alliance advisory committee. “We are looking for residents that are committed to the Perth Amboy community. It’s an opportunity to serve and to also learn,” said Mayor Wilda Diaz. An interest meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. at the Alexander Jankowski Community Center located on 1 Olive Street. Advisory Committee applications are due by Friday, August 24th.

Some key responsibilities include: consistent attendance at regular monthly committee meetings, participation at the meetings as an active member and possible participation in the general activities of the organization.

Please be advised that this is strictly a voluntary position. Residents interested in becoming members of this committee may complete and return the Citizen Service application for consideration to Office of the Recreation, Attention: Lis Mery Ramirez located on 1 Olive Street, Perth Amboy, New Jersey 08861.

About The Perth Amboy Municipal Alliance – The Perth Amboy Municipal Alliance was established in 1990 with the purpose of coordinating substance abuse prevention programs, activities and events for all community members throughout the year. To achieve this goal, the Municipal Alliance Committee is composed by a group of volunteers who work collaboratively to plan and implement drug, alcohol and tobacco prevention programs in our community.
