A RESORT IN ITS HEYDAY — A rear-view shot of the Sewaren Hotel, foot of Ferry Street, Sewaren, one of the most flourishing summer resorts on the Atlantic coast in the early 1900’s. Most photos of this period were front-view shots taken from the water, depicting the wide verandas upon which summer guests relaxes, over looking Staten Island Sound. This magnificent structure was torn down in 1913 after a devastating fire.
