Music performance by Jeff Saxon at Raritan Bay Coffee Company

October 12th Event In Support Of Perth Amboy Public Library Renovation

PERTH AMBOY — The Raritan Bay Coffee Company proudly presents an evening of acoustic music by award-winning singer/songwriter/guitarist, Jeff Saxon, on Friday, October 12th from 7:30 to 9:15 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but a suggested donation of $5.00 per person is greatly appreciated, with all proceeds going to the much needed restoration of the Perth Amboy Library. The library, open since 1903, holds the distinction of being the first library in New Jersey to be a beneficiary of Andrew Carnegie’s philanthropic generosity. The Raritan Bay Coffee House is located at 233 Smith Street in the Perth Amboy train station. Coffee, tea, soda, baked goods and sandwiches will be available for purchase. The performance will feature Saxon’s original blues, R&B and jazz -infused vocal tunes along with a few innovative renditions of pop and rock classics.

The Perth Amboy resident, Saxon, has released three CD’s of his original material: “Truthteller”, ”The Spin” and “Me, Myself, And I”. Saxon will donate 50% of all CD sales made that evening to the Perth Amboy Library renovation fund. In August of this year, Saxon won the Best Rock Music Video award at the World Music And Independent Film Festival, held in Washington, D.C. The video of Saxon’s winning song, “High Time For A Hero”, was filmed entirely in Perth Amboy. Music reviewers have also taken note of Saxon’s musical talents. Patch.com described him as “a consummate songwriter” and a reviewer from I Am Entertainment Magazine lauded Saxon as having “a great voice…”, sometimes reminiscent of Eric Clapton and George Benson. The chameleonic Saxon has also been likened to other musical notables, including Keb’ Mo’, Lyle Lovett, James Taylor and Don Henley.
