COMMUNITY VOICE: Compassionate Council Needed

The Price of food goes up! Gasoline prices keep spiking! Property taxes keep rising!

To add insult to injury the City Council amends the handicapped Ordinance regarding parking space to exact a $25 renewal fee. And failure to submit this renewal fee another fee of $50 is charged! WHEW! Has this Council no compassion for the handicapped? Does it think the handicap will disappear? And why is a renewal plus a fee even necessary?

Just another example why living in this city is not comfortable anymore. It is no pleasure to even go downtown during business hours. The traffic congestion is horrible! No parking spaces! And if you do find one you will be socked a penalty of $30! And on the waterfront 60 bucks! And the bad drivers going through stop signs! Frankly Woodbridge is much better! No parking meters! Plenty of free parking! I often regret not moving to Woodbridge where the living is much easier!

Mayor Wilda Diaz has done a remarkable job of restoring this city from the financial mess caused by the previous administration. But she needs a much better Council to continue this good work. She has earned re-election by a huge majority with her ticket over the eeny meeny miny mo mayoral candidates who will merely cancel each other out!

Thank you for our courtesies.

Very Truly Yours,

Peter Book a.k.a./Pedro Libro
