New Jersey’s RWDSU Local 108 Endorses Frank Salado for Mayor of Perth Amboy

PERTH AMBOY – Today, the Retail, Wholesale & Department Store Union, UFCW, CTW, CLC (RWDSU) Local 108 announced its endorsement for Frank Salado for Mayor of the City of Perth Amboy.

“Frank Salado has always been a friend to Labor, and as a former union member of UFCW Locals 342 in New York and Local 464A in New Jersey, personally understands what we stand for…the rights and protection of our workers and providing the best level of service,” said Charles Hall, UFCW Local 108 President.

“Throughout his career and civic service, Frank has always prioritized the people’s needs, and we know that he has the experience and the plan to bring jobs back to Perth Amboy, make its neighborhoods safer and help improve its school system. That is why today, we enthusiastically support him as the next Mayor of the City of Perth Amboy.”

Mr. Salado expressed his gratitude to the over 5,000 members of RWDSU, Local 108.

“I am humbled to receive the support of my friends at RWDSU, Local 108 and for the confidence they have placed in me,” said Salado. “As a past union member I am in complete solidarity with American workers and the importance of bringing jobs back to our cities, and ensuring that everyone has a shot at a decent job and a better quality of life. That’s the vision I have for Perth Amboy and one I will fight for.

I look forward to working with the RWDSU, Local 108, and the rest of the Labor community, to make Perth Amboy great again once I become mayor.”

Local 108, represents a wide range of retail workers in clothing stores, jewelry stores, automotive service, parts and accessory stores, supermarkets, warehouses, manufacturing, and also in the public sector.
