Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary Celebration

EDISON — Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Brown of Edison celebrated their Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary on the 5th of October in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mr. Brown and the former Janet E. Peterson of Perth Amboy were married October 5, 1952 at the First Presbyterian Church of Perth Amboy. Brown was in the security business in Somerset prior to his retirement in 1994. He also served in the U.S. Navy from 1949 to 1953. He has served as a Republican County Committeeman in Edison since 1967. He is a member and former Deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Perth Amboy. Mr. Brown is also the President of the Senior Republican Club of Middlesex County. An avid golfer Bob has been a member of The Cranbury Golf Club since 1977. Brown is also a former Life insurance General Agent and graduate of the American College of Charter Life Underwriters. He also is retired from the Middlesex County Board of Elections as Commissioner and Board President in 2000, having served for 13 years.

Mrs. Brown worked as an office temp in Edison until her retirement in 1994. She is a member and current Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Perth Amboy, member and secretary of the Senior Republican Club of Middlesex County. Mrs. Brown has served as a Republican county Committeewoman in Edison for 41 years. They are the parents of Douglas R. Brown of Edison and Mrs. Kathi Fancher of Levittown, Pennsylvania.
