King Philosophy Reflections at Cathedral International

10 a.m., Saturday, January 19 at 277 Madison Avenue, Perth Amboy.Reflections on poverty, racism, non-violence, social justice, and the beloved community from Dr. King’s perspective.

PERTH AMBOY – King Day service at Cathedral International will feature reflections on the philosophy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 19 at 277 Madison Avenue, Perth Amboy.

Dr. King said, “The hope of a secure and livable world lies with disciplined nonconformists who are dedicated to justice, peace and brotherhood.” In response to Dr. King’s statement, Bishop Donald Hilliard, Jr., Cathedral’s Senior Pastor comments, “I believe the dedication Dr. King preached about is alive and found in communities where committed leaders are making small and large differences.”

Addressing Dr. King’s philosophy will be:

• Monsignor John Gordon, Commanding Officer, Perth Amboy Police Chaplains

• The Reverend Dr. Gregg Mast, President, New Brunswick Theological Seminary, New Brunswick, NJ

• The Reverend Dr. Anne Marie Jeffery, Rector, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Perth Amboy

• The Reverend Amos Dickerson, Pastor, St. James AME Zion Church, Perth Amboy

• The Reverend Dr. Donald Hilliard, Jr., Senior Pastor, Cathedral International

Mayor Wilda Diaz, of Perth Amboy is participating in the King Day service, as well as the Perth Amboy High School Concert Band, Cathedral International Imani Dancers, New Jersey Orators, Perth Amboy Branch and the Cathedral Choir.
