Towns, Counties, Nonprofits Get More Time To Request FEMA Public Assistance

NEW JERSEY — The FEMA Public Assistance cost-share program helps county and municipal governments and eligible nonprofits in New Jersey recover from Hurricane Sandy. FEMA is reimbursing 75 percent of eligible costs of emergency response, debris removal and repair or replacement of public facilities damaged by Hurricane Sandy.

Deadlines to submit Requests for Public Assistance (RPAs) have been extended. Governments and nonprofits in these counties have until the following dates to submit requests:

Jan. 28 – Atlantic, Cape May, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean and Union

Jan. 30 – Bergen and Somerset, Feb. 3 – Burlington, Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Morris, Passaic, Salem, Sussex and Warren

The RPA form is available at http://www.state.nj.us/njoem/plan/public-assist.html. Click on the RPA link to download the form.
