PERTH AMBOY — Juan Mendoza who is a music teacher at the William C. McGinnis School was praised by the Vice President Kenneth Puccio. Mendoza was the Grand Prize winner of $25,000 at the National Drum Off Competition in Los Angeles.

Also drawing praise that evening was the Girls Varsity Basketball Team. Board Member Dianne Roman said, “The girls are the #1 team in the county. They not only play well but are academically healthy.”

Fellow Board Member Obi Gonzalez said, “Achievements such as this should be included in the Superintendent’s report or placed on the Board agenda.”
