Mural at Novak Funeral Home

The completed mural at Novak Funeral Home.

PERTH AMBOY – Above is the latest mural painted by well known Perth Amboy artist Tom Ward. The scene above depicts part of Perth Amboy’s Waterfront in the 1920’s as viewed from the shoreline of Staten Island.

Ward’s murals are a part of Perth Amboy’s history. You may have passed his murals several times. Some of his murals are on display at private residences be it inside or outside. When dining at the Barge Restaurant you will see his work of art painted on the walls in the bar and the upstairs dining area. If you are going for an ice cream at Bayside Creamery you will see his work on the wall on the side of the building where there is outdoor dining.

Artist Tom Ward with Joey Diaz. The mural shows Perth Amboy as viewed in 1920’s.

Several years ago, Ward restored a mural by a well-known Spanish artist which was deteriorating on some of the buildings in the Dunlap Homes.

When you visit City Hall and enter on the Market Street entrance you will see his work displayed in the foyer.

Mayor Wilda Diaz wanted Ward’s art to be a part of history in Perth Amboy’s Historic City Hall. If you are ever fortunate enough to be able to enter the Mayor’s Office, you will be astounded. Ward’s artwork depicting Perth Amboy’s history and historical sites is a story onto itself.

We are very proud of the fact that Tom Ward chose Perth Amboy to display his vast talents.
