With the passing of longtime resident and businessman, Nate Witkin, many lost a true and loyal friend. Besides being a loving and devoted husband and father, Nate was the epitome of the informed, dedicated and committed citizen. There is little Nate did not do, or attempt to do, for the residents of Perth Amboy and its governing bodies over the years.

That’s the way he was. If you lived in Perth Amboy, you were his neighbor and his friend. He believed in the everyday operation of the Golden Rule. He also believed, as a John F. Kennedy-era Democrat, it was indeed incumbent upon each citizen to ask not what their government could do for them but as what they could do in support of their government and the liberties it protected. For Nate, this questioning and commitment started with the City of Perth Amboy and the State of New Jersey.

He was a good man and an exceptional citizen. Nate will be missed but always remembered.
