PERTH AMBOY – BID Board Member Virginia Lugo said, “There are only seven Members left on the Board and they vote as the Administration wants them to.”
She stated that the BID Budget should be held up. “We were appointed and not elected by the taxpayers who are paying for this. I am asking that BID money not be spent until the next election.”
Since there are 70 percent Hispanics in the City she wanted to address those residents in Spanish.
“We should cease spending of the BID money. Our minutes are not even posted in a timely manner.”
Business Administrator Jillian Barrick said, “The BID (Business Improvement District) is funded through a special assessment passed onto the property owners in the business district. This is not through the taxpayers money.”
