Perth Amboy Democrats Open HQ on State Street For Council

PERTH AMBOY – Candidates Joel Pabon, Bill Petrick and newcomer Sergio Diaz opened their headquarters on 336A State St. on 9/16/14.

Former Mayoral Candidate Billy Delgado offered his support of the ticket. During his speech at the opening of Perth Amboy Democratic Headquarters, Delgado said, “I know all of these candidates. Sergio and I went to the same college. We’ve all had disagreements. I also know candidates from the other ticket. They are all good people, but I believe that this is the ticket that will move Perth Amboy forward.”

During the candidates’ speech, each one emphasized how important it was that the whole ticket gets in together. Mayor Diaz emphasized the accomplishments that Bill Petrick and Joel Pabon have achieved while members of the Council. “Their decisions have helped the City towards fiscal responsibility which has made it better for the taxpayers and residents.” When Pabon spoke, he emphasized that the Freeholders be reelected, casting an eye towards them. He told the Freeholders, “Perth Amboy has always brought in numbers for them, and not to forget that.”

Petrick is an active member of the Volunteer Fire Department and has been involved in his family owned business which has been open for over 90 years. Pabon has been active with the City’s youth, especially when it comes to youth sports. First time Council Candidate Sergio Diaz is a businessman and has sits on the Board of the BID and has been involved in the community and youth and business organizations.

In attendance to lend their support were Middlesex County Sheriff Millie Scott, County Clerk, Elaine Flynn, Freeholder Director Ron Rios, Freeholders: Kenneth Armwood, Charles Tomaro, Charles Kenny and Blanquita Valenti, Assemblyman Craig Coughlin, and Sen. Joe Vitale.
