PERTH AMBOY – With the theme “Cruising for Kids,” this weekend’s classic car show at the Perth Amboy Waterfront was a success. The Raritan Bay Cruisers, a local classic car club, selected the Boys & Girls Clubs of Perth Amboy as their charity of choice. The Cruisers and the Boy & Girls Club hosted the show that brought in over 60 cars, jeeps and bikes. Through their efforts and all the drivers who came out, the Raritan Bay Cruisers were able to raise and contribute $1,400 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Perth Amboy.
All proceeds will be used will support programs that encourage kids to stay in school and aid them to succeed academically while reducing destructive behaviors and fostering character and leadership development. “Today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders, and they need the support of every community, business and elected official in order to succeed. It is because of partnerships and dedicated individuals and organizations like the Raritan Bay Cruisers and Santander Bank, our event sponsor, that we are able to keep our doors open and provide top notch services to the kids who need us most,” said Tashilee Vazquez, Chief Professional Officer of Boys & Girls Clubs of Perth Amboy.
