SOUTH AMBOY – South Amboy Elks #784 received a grant to help  needy families and seniors for the Thanksgiving Holiday. South Amboy Elks Lodge No. 784 delivered 23 food baskets to local senior citizens  on Sunday, November 23rd.  Each basket was filled with a turkey and all the trimmings and each basket contained many non-perishable food items.  In addition to the baskets, the Elks donated thirteen $50 Walmart gift cards to help families in the community who are most in need at this time of year.  This was all made possible through a Beacon Grant received from the Elks National Foundation.  Through the generosity of its members, the Elks also donated cases of food to a local church food pantry.  The Elks National Foundation helps local lodges accomplish their charitable objectives and funds projects that improve the quality of life in their local communities.  The Elks are always looking for new members to help with their community outreaching efforts.  For information on how to join, call the South Amboy Lodge at 732-727-7170or go to www.elks.org  to learn more about who the Elks are and what they stand for.
