PERTH AMBOY – Detectives are actively investigating the fatal stabbing of a city man who was found dead in his apartment. Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief Benjamin Ruiz of the Perth Amboy Police Department announced today that detectives are actively investigating the fatal stabbing of a city man who was found dead in his apartment.

Jean Carlos Morel was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:40 p.m. on December 7, 2014 after police were dispatched to his second-floor apartment on Smith Street in Perth Amboy.

An autopsy by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office determined today that the victim had been fatally stabbed.

No arrests have been made, but an investigation is continuing.
