PERTH AMBOY – Communication No. 10 on the 1/12/15 Caucus and 1/14/15 Council Meetings.
A petition with the signatures of eight towers requested an increase for rates and charges for services.
Business Administrator Jillian Barrick said, “We will look into having a Council subcommittee to address issues like this.”
Councilman William Petrick said, “We should look to make sure towers have yards in town. City Attorney Mark Blunda said, “You cannot exclude out-of-town towers on our towing list.”
Petrick responded to that comment, “Maybe we should require out-of-town towers to lease yards within the City.”
Councilman Fernando Gonzalez was concerned about alternate side of the street parking. “People are getting ticketed and towed even if it’s for a first time infraction. This is costing them between $80 and $110.”
Gonzalez felt that this should be looked into.
