Seaman Street Property Concerns 3/23 & 3/25 Caucus & Council Meetings

PERTH AMBOY – Communication No. 8. Perth Amboy Board of Education requesting that with planned construction of an new elementary school, Seaman Avenue be made a one-way street with traffic flowing from Augustine Place to Ogden Place and that the front of the soon to be built school on Seaman AVenue be made a no parking area along the entire length of the street. (3/20/15).

Resident Ken Balut said, “It’s going to cost $1.5 million to clean the containments at the Seaman Street Property. It’s now $3 million to build the school. This property is not a safe place for a school.”

At the 3/25/15 Council Meeting, Councilman William Petrick said, “ Having a school built on this property should to be looked at because it can cause problems. This would include foot and vehicular traffic which would cause problems with an emergency service response. We should have the Fire Chief look into this.”
