Ferry Slip Museum Meeting, Apr. 20

PERTH AMBOY – Come join us at “The Little Museum That Could” where YOUR volunteer efforts will really make a BIG difference! The Ferry Slip Museum cordially invites you to our reorganization meeting on Monday, April 20 at 7 p.m.

Whether it’s a class of young children or a WWII veteran – everyone who visits is touched by the history of ferrying from the Lenape Indians to the 1960s.  Our little museum demonstrates the importance of the Raritan to settling Perth Amboy as well as being a source of food, industry and transportation.

Stand in a place where history has been made for centuries!  Imagine John Adams, Benjamin Franklin and Edward Rutledge leaving from this spot to cross over the waters and meet with the British regarding the decision to go to war.

Soon to come – a mini museum on-site to be named “Made in Perth Amboy” with examples of the products that came from Perth Amboy and the history of the companies involved. Help clean out the space, stock it, and learn while you volunteer.

We are completely self-supporting and completely dependent upon volunteer to staff the museum, act as docents, clean, elicit donations and run our excellent speakers’ program.  Surely your talents in one of these areas will make a difference!

Please join us for this important meeting.  Chair a committee, join a committee or run for the Board.  We need you and we know you’ll enjoy the experience!
