SOUTH AMBOY – There’s a new face in an old place. What once was “Henry’s Raritan Barber Shop” is now “Carmine’s Barber Shop”.

The new owner, Carmine Moore, has 26 years of experience since graduating from the Reignbow Academy in Perth Amboy.

Born in Red Bank Carmine has lived in New Jersey all of his life.

When asked why he became a barber, Carmine replied; “A friend of mine offered me a job in a nail salon. When I went to the Reignbow Academy, I decided to go for the whole course; I really didn’t want to do nails.”

Carmine’s first barbers’ job was with “Crazy Johnny’s Barber Shop” in Port Monmouth. “He has since passed, but was a great guy,” says Carmine. “I also worked at: “John’s of Jamesburg,”- another great guy.”

According to Carmine, the best part of being a barber is meeting a lot of different people.

Since opening, many of Carmine’s old customers have found him, but he is looking forward to meeting many new ones, and has, since opening for business.

Carmine’s barber shop is an “Old School” barber shop with a relaxed atmosphere.

Carmine’s is located at 330 Bordentown Ave, (across from the gazebo and cannon) in South Amboy. See his ad above for coupons and hours.
