Acting Police Chief Larry Cattano stated that there is a policy in place for regular standard recordings. “Patrol cars have a rear camera. Certain things trigger the camera. It’s turned on when we are transporting prisoners. It’s required by law that any new vehicles – any vehicle whether it be a patrol car or anytime we interact with the public (have cameras installed).”
Council President Lisa Nanton asked how long the data is stored.
Cattano answered, “After a year, it’s purged.”
