Remembered: First Airmail Delivery from South Amboy to Perth Amboy on July 4, 1912

SOUTH AMBOY – On Saturday, June 6, the South Amboy Historical Society along with the City of South Amboy unveiled New Jersey’s First Airmail Flight Commemorative Memorial. The Memorial Site is located near Broadway Bagels.

South Amboy’s Mayor, Fred Henry participated in uncovering the Memorial which was draped by an American Flag Bunting.

The Historic Preservation Commission was joined by residents and Assemblyman Craig Coughlin under a clear, blue, sunny, warm day.

Refreshments were served by Broadway Bagel at the end of the ceremony.
