PERTH AMBOY – The Perth Amboy Fire Department has applied and was awarded a U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency Port Security Grant for the amount of $144,544. The grant will fund equipment including an outdated Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) system, as well as complete maintenance. The money will also allow the department to train firefighters as both operators and crewman.
