COMMUNITY VOICE: Letters to the Editor

A Lot of Love

LetterThere was a lot of love in Perth Amboy the evening of October 10.  On the beautiful ship, Cornucopia “St. Charles Vessel”, Celebrate Perth Amboy recognized our non-profit organization with their amazing black/pink tie gala.  Delicious food, great music, inspirational speeches and a wonderful MC, the evening could not have been more special.

We want to thank the Celebrate Perth Amboy – Pink Ribbon Gala Committee -Elaine Jasko, Chair, Raquel Roche, Treasurer, Vicki Caraballo, Randy Convery, Junel Hutchinson, Carolyn Maxwell, Ken Ortiz, Maria Pineiro, Diane Riporti, Roxanna Troche, Patty Valencia, Idania Vazques and Tashilee Vazques for putting their hearts and hands into this celebration.  We also want to thank Mayor Wilda Diaz for her support and Master of Ceremony Robert Durso for being in our corner from the moment the evening began.  We thank each and every person who attended the event or were there in spirit for selecting Mary’s Place by the Sea as the recipient of your generous donations.  We continue to feel your love.  We are honored to have you as supporters, but more importantly, to call you friends.

On behalf of Mary’s Place and the women with cancer whom we serve, thank you.  Thank you for helping us to continue our mission of providing a place for women to heal: mind, body and soul.

Warmest wishes,

Michele Gannon and Maria McKeon

Thank you Council Members for allowing me and my neighbors to speak. My name is Maria Vera. I have lived at 81 Madison Ave. for 32 years. My neighbors and I are here to discuss and pint out some issues we have been experiencing for the past 3 years in regards to the Dominican Festivals.

We want to discuss and express the problems tonight in a professional manner so that our Council Members can make right and safe decisions. We suggest Rudyk Park as the primary location, due to the loud noise and the large volume of people. This year has been out of control. We have submitted these articles for the newspaper and a picture to show how many people were at this event. Please, we need your support from the Waterfront homeowners. We do not want this festival here. We like to thank the Chief of Police Cattano.

Thank you for your support, From the Waterfront Homeowners
