New History Documentary

PERTH AMBOY – “John Watson 1685-1768 New Jersey’s First Artist” is our brand new history documentary. Who was John Watson? As our film title discloses, Watson was New Jersey’s first professional artist. He made his home on Water Street in colonial Perth Amboy, purchasing an adjacent building to serve as his art gallery.

We have gone through archives in several states, literally pulling out items & images pertaining to Watson. Many of these have not been seen in Perth Amboy since the 18th century. In addition, we have examined the evidence from an archaeological excavation that took place on the Watson site.  And all this research has been incorporated into our film.

If you enjoy colonial art, historic artifacts or forgotten Perth Amboy history, then you might like our new documentary. It is set to air on Comcast Channel 34 and FIOS Channel 47 this February.    Please check Channel 34’s schedule for the exact times. Tune in & enjoy!
