National Prescription Take Back, April 30

News Release –

PERTH AMBOY, NJ— Mayor Wilda Diaz and the Perth Amboy Police Department will be hosting National Prescription Take Back in two locations in the City of Perth Amboy for safe disposal of prescription drugs on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

As stated by DEA Public Affairs, “The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is continuing its efforts to take back unused, unwanted and expired prescription medications.  The DEA invites the public to bring their potentially dangerous, unwanted medicines to one of over 5,000 collection sites around the country that are manned by more than 3,800 of DEA’s tribal and local law enforcement partners.  This service is free of charge, with no questions asked.”

A Medicine Drop Box is permanently located in the Perth Amboy Police Department (PAPD) on 365 New Brunswick Avenue. It allows the public to dispose of unused and expired prescription medications safely, securely, and anonymously– 24-hours/7-days a week.

“Through the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign we provide many seasonal programs for healthy families. National Prescription Take Back is right in line with these initiatives in continuing to keeping our residents safe and healthy,” said Mayor Wilda Diaz.
