Rally for BOE Candidates

PERTH AMBOY – Mayor Wilda Diaz enthusiastically announced her support for the Board of Education candidates Randy Convery, Junior Iglesia and Tashi Vazquez at an enthusiastic rally at Bayview Park today.

“Convery, Iglesia and Vazquez are the right candidates at the right time who are best suited to address the most pressing issues our school system faces,” Mayor Diaz told over a hundred supporters. “We cannot finish the task of redeveloping our city without providing a high quality education for our children. Our children are my priority as I seek re-election.”

BOE Cand 2Mayor Diaz continued: “We need a board that works with the entire community and not against it. I want to work collaboratively with the school board. I believe Convery, Iglesia and Vazquez are the best choice for our children.”

BOE Cand 1Convery told followers at the rally, “the future success of our children and our city as a whole is dependent on our education system. Our board of education, students, parents and staff should all be working together to ensure our children get the quality education they deserve. I, along with my running mates, are committed to ensuring a successful working relationship among all aspects of our community.”

Iglesia said that, “as a parent of three beautiful children, who all attend the Perth Amboy Public Schools I want what is best for them. I look forward to being part of the solution to the challenges that our school district faces and a partner to both staff and parents. It’s time the Perth Amboy Board of Education puts its focus best on the education of our children.”

Vazquez said, “I support and promote excellent schools with high academic rigor, which enable all children to reach their full potential. I believe in doing what is right for our schools, keeping politics out of the classroom and keeping the focus on our kids and families. I will work diligently to ensure that the Perth Amboy School District continues to advance the educational experience for all of our current and future generations.”
