The Middlesex County Republican Party recently announced the candidacies of four Republicans for the party Executive Board. The election will be held on June 14.
The candidates are: Chairperson – Arthur Haney, Old Bridge Twp. Vice Chairperson – April Bengivenga, South Plainfield Secretary – Lynda Woods Cleary, South Brunswick Treasurer – Harold V. Kane, Monroe Twp.
The stated goal of the candidates is to reverse the decline of the party and to move it toward its rightful place as the premier political party in Middlesex County. Arthur Haney, a former CEO, was a Middlesex County freeholder and a mayor of Old Bridge. He is currently the Republican chairperson in Old Bridge Twp.
April Bengivenga is the NJGOP State Committeewoman from Middlesex County and the Republican chairperson in South Plainfield. Lynda Woods Cleary, a certified financial planner, is a member of the South Brunswick Republican committee and is a past chairperson of the South Brunswick Republican party. Harold Kane is a committee person from Monroe Township and is the program director of the Monroe Republican Club. He is a member of the American Legion and is the president of the USS Manley (DD940) Association.
The four candidates understand the need for new, motivated, and resourceful leadership. The current leadership has its methods mired in the past and this will stop. New ideas and methods will be adapted. The statement that “we’ve always done it that way” will no longer be operative. A new emphasis on assistance to the local municipal organizations will be implemented. The local municipal organizations are the Republican Party.
