Ben Ruiz

PERTH AMBOY – Police Chief Benjamin Ruiz, who was recently arrested and charged with trespassing at a Smith Street convenience  store  property has officially been terminated from his position.

The termination was based on the New Jersey Civil Service Commission rules and regulations. This is effective as of June 7, 2016.

This August Ruiz is scheduled to appear in court on the charges of official misconduct, witness tampering and theft of services which occurred began in late December 2013.
