Referring to the campaign’s name, Mr. Nunez said, “Serving ALL People is a clear message of our team’s focus and attention. The incumbent politicians of Perth Amboy have long forgotten that holding elected office is about service to the people. Not serving your own interests, nor the interests of a small group of insiders, but ALL the people. It is time to give back to the city that I love.”

Candidate for City Council, Ms. Virginia Lugo, owner and operator of Access Title, LLC on State Street stated, “My call to serve the city started with my tenures on the Perth Amboy BID (Business Improvement District), the Kiwanis, Salvation Army, and PRAHD (Puerto Rican Association for Human Development) boards. It has always been a desire of mine to give back to the community in every way I can. To improve our city as a whole we need to revitalize our business district, stimulate the economy of our city, and decrease property taxes while increasing our property values. My goal in this campaign is to shine a spotlight on fraud and waste in our local government so we can affect REAL change for the benefit of all.”

Miriam Quiles, business woman, resident, mother, and concerned citizen stated, “I am a regular citizen who has worked hard and paid my taxes faithfully. Other communities have grown, while our city has been allowed to run itself down, with crumbling infrastructure and rampant crime. If regular citizens like me don’t stand up, who will? I want to help rebuild this beautiful city and serve ALL the people in our community.”

Mr. Nunez emphatically stated, “This will be a grass roots campaign, focused on listening to the people and centered on real issues. We have seen on the national stage that people are fed up with politics as usual. As they rightly should be. On the local level, we want ALL the people of Perth Amboy to stand with us and shout ‘Enough!’.”
