7/13/16 Council Meeting

By: Katherine Massopust

SOUTH AMBOY – During the public portion, Resident Jennifer Nesi addressed the Council. She had come before the Council at the last Meeting in order to complain about a neighboring house that was abandoned.

“The house next door was cleaned. Some trees were taken down and a sheet was placed on the door. Many people came and checked it. We appreciate what was done so far.”

B.A. Camille Tooker stated, “A whole team was up there. Code Enforcement has been notified. The house has to be repaired or taken down. It’s a  unsafe structure. There is a Police line there now to help keep people away. We took away the furniture on the porch.”

Nesi thanked the Council and everyone for their quick action.

Tooker continued, “If they don’t comply, they will go to court. We’re hoping it doesn’t get to that point.”

Nesi added, “As far as the animal problem, there still are squirrels going into the house. Ground hogs are still going into the house. They are still terrorizing my dog.”

The Council thanked Nesi for her comments.
