Council Addresses Residents’ Concerns

8/10/16 Council Meeting

PERTH AMBOY – Councilman Fernando Gonzalez addressed the issues of streets not being patched correctly. One example was when you are on Amboy Avenue going towards Woodbridge. He also stated, “The Waterfront looks horrible and what’s going on with the buses at the Train Station?”

B.A. Adam Cruz answered Gonzalez’s concerns about the buses, “I reached out to Jeanette Rios (Director of the Parking Utility) about perhaps using the top level of the Parking Deck.”

Gonzalez was also concerned about the food trucks at the Waterfront, “I don’t think we need more food trucks. We have to think about the aesthetics.”

Councilman Bill Petrick said, “Residents have complained that there are too many commercial trucks parked on Gornik Drive and Hamilton Street.”

Council President Lisa Nanton wanted to know what happened to the monthly reports from Code Enforcement (listings of abandoned properties, violations, etc.), “There are a lot of people who have overflowing garbage cans.”
