PERTH AMBOY – Mayor Wilda Diaz today voiced strong support for presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and her efforts to expose Donald Trump’s message of hate.

“Since the presidential campaign began Donald Trump has been preaching a message of hate towards immigrants particularly Latinos and Muslims,” said Diaz. “His recent retraction of anti-immigrant sentiment and policies fools no one. Immigrants are the backbone of this nation. In my work as mayor I have tried to build bridges between communities not walls. I urge all voters to reject Trump and his philosophy of hate in November.”

Mayor Diaz concluded: “Donald Trump is the most uniquely unqualified candidate ever selected by a major party as its presidential nominee. His temperament places our nation at risk fiscally, militarily, and morally.”

For months, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has been disparaging Latinos, Muslims, African Americans, and women. As he has begun to slip in the polls Trump has tried to redefine his message. However, his thin veil of pleasantries cannot conceal his bigotry.
