ELECTION ’16: Sharon Hubberman

Sharon Hubberman Challenges “Oathbreaker Wilda” in Upcoming Mayoral Race

Press Release 9/5/16

Perth Amboy – Local town advocate and activist, Sharon Hubberman enters Perth Amboy Mayoral race against Wilda Diaz. Sharon Hubberman is a late-starter Mayoral candidate who submitted her petitions to run for mayor on Friday, September 2nd.

“I am so grateful and thankful for the opportunity to run and represent the many residents of our town whom I had the pleasure of meeting recently,” Sharon Hubberman said. “Their concerns, are my concerns, and most importantly, I am going to do my best to bring solutions and a new vision to help our city attain a brighter future.”

Mayoral Candidate Sharon Hubberman and her running mate, Council Candidate Enid Crespo, submitted 655 petitions to the clerkʼs office, which were collected in less than a month. “We listened to our residentsʼ concerns while collecting our nomination petitions, and look forward to hearing from more residents,” Hubberman said. Both candidates believe Perth Amboy is ready for a change and are not looking for status-quo politicians. A voter informed Sharon Hubberman and Enid Crespo that the current Mayor should be held accountable to her two-term promise. “Unlike “Oath Breaker Wilda,” it is my goal to implement term-limits for the office of both Mayor and Council,” said Sharon Hubberman.

Additionally, another voter informed Sharon Hubberman that someone was circulating blank petitions stating they were collecting nomination petitions for Hubberman For Mayor. “Dirty politics doesnʼt surprise me,” Sharon Hubberman said, “the circulator was not collecting petitions for me, nor was that person a representative of our team. Essentially, these are the type of tactics used by an impostor who is not suitable for the office of Mayor.”

Upon certification of officially being on the November ballot, Sharon Hubberman will release the Weʼre Ready (Estamos Listos) team platform, on their upcoming website www.werereadypa.com.

“Iʼm so happy my daughter Sharon is running for Mayor because I know she will do a great job and is the most qualified candidate,” Maria Rodriguez said, “She really cares about the people in our community and is a strong leader who will clean up the corruption of this town, and bring progress to Perth Amboy.”
