PERTH AMBOY – Board Member Anton J. Massopust stated that the importance of remembering the 15th Anniversary of 9-11-01 this Sunday (9/11/16). “Up and down the Northeast Coast, on every Christmas, Thanksgiving and every holiday, birthdays and family outings, there are empty seats because of 9-11. These families will never forget 9-11. I hope that the rest of us will never forget 9-11. As a First Responder, I lost friends and there were 879 people from New Jersey who lost their lives.” He slammed his fist down and said, “Never Again!”
Board Member Milady Tejada stated, “I was there that day. I think this is a wonderful country I live in. I will never forget that day.”
Board President Sam Lebreault stated, “I work in New York. When the first plane hit, as we looked, the second plane hit, we went to every bridge and tunnel to make sure they were secure. I looked straight at the towers. I lost friends there.”
As previously requested by Board Member Ken Puccio, a moment of silence was held in memoriam to the victims of 9-11.
Board Member Anthony Bermudez added, “We also have to remember those in place in the U.S. Military overseas. I lost friends overseas. We do this because we love our country. Let’s remember those who love our country.
“Dr. David Roman will be observing the anniversary district wide,” said Board President Sam Lebreault.
