240th Anniversary of Peace Conference, Billop House, Tottenville

TOTTENVILLE – On September 11, 1776, John Adams, Ben Franklin & Edward Rutledge ferried from Perth Amboy to the Billop House on Staten Island. There they met with Lord Admiral Howe for peace talks. The British Officer on the far left is portrayed by Perth Amboy’s Anton Massopust III, who took part in the 240th reenactment.
