PERTH AMBOY – On Sunday October 2, 2016, my sister, Major Rosa M. Ramos, was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel at the Joint Base McGuire -Dix- Lakehurst, NJ. Lieutenant Colonel Ramos is a 1984 graduate of the PAHS, getting her Doctorate of Nursing in 2014, from Monmouth University and is employed by the Perth Amboy Board of Education.
Lieutenant Colonel Ramos joined United States Navy in 1987 Active Duty. She became Hospital Corpman and worked in various medical settings. She joined the United States Air Force Reserve in 1997. She has held numerous positions in both the 514th and 714th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadrons. She is a senior flight nurse with more than 1500 flight hours in C-17, C-141, C-130 and KC-135 aircraft.
Lieutenant Colonel Rosa Ramos is a Senior Flight Nurse Evaluator, 514th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, Joint Base McGuire -Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. Her responsibilities include Operation and Planning of training mission for members of the 514th AES. Lieutenant Colonel Ramos has deployed in support of Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, New Dawn and Operation Oaken Steel.
Lieutenant Colonel Ramos is married to her husband of 27yrs Ismael Caraballo, they have to beautiful children, Cristian and Odalis. Her proud parents are Juan and Auria Ramos. Lieutenant Colonel Ramos has two sisters, Lillian Ramos and Migdalia Ramos, and her niece Victoria Pagan.
Participating in Lieutenant Colonel Ramos’ ceremony were her proud parents Juan and Auria Ramos, her sister Lillian Ramos, niece Victoria Pagan, husband Ismael Caraballo and her two beautiful children, Cristian and Odalis.
I couldn’t be more proud of my sister, this is a Big Accomplishment. She truly is an amazing woman.
