“The Taste” Serves as Preview to the first “Discover Perth Amboy: Restaurant Week”

PERTH AMBOY – Top chefs, bakers, and food crafters will skillfully prepare and serve an incredible array of international cuisine during the 2016 Taste of Perth Amboy. This year, “The Taste” is presented by historic Perth Amboy, Mayor Wilda Diaz, the City’s Business Improvement District (BID) and CPA- Save our Carnegie Library. Proceeds from “The Taste” help fund ongoing improvements to the City’s public library.
All food lovers are welcome, and guests will adore the gourmet food from over 30 local restaurants, bakeries, cafés, caterers, and purveyors of craft cuisine. Sample appetizers, entrées, desserts, and beverages from around the world while onboard the Cornucopia Cruise Line’s St. Charles vessel. Dine and enjoy the beautiful evening sky during “The Taste,” which will be held on a luxury ship docked at Cornucopia’s location — 401 Riverview Drive in Perth Amboy.
The City-by-the-Bay’s culinary event of the year occurs on Thursday, October 20 from 6 to 9 p.m., and tickets are selling rapidly! The simplest way to register and buy tickets is online at www.TPA2016.eventbrite.com. The cost is $30 for adults, and the fee for anyone under 17 years of age is $15.

“The Taste” lets chefs − from the city’s top restaurants and newest places − present their most popular dishes or introduce innovative creations. The event also serves as a preview to first “Discover Perth Amboy: Restaurant Week” that runs fromOctober 22 to October 29.

Attendees are encouraged to vote for their favorites at “The Taste.” Trophies for the “Best Taste,” and “Best Dessert” as well as the coveted “People’s Choice Award” are presented by Mayor Diaz. Guests will have a chance to win door prizes and experience dynamic entertainment including live bands, dance companies, and a DJ.
