PERTH AMBOY – Congressman Albio Sires today endorsed Mayor Wilda Diaz touting her unwavering commitment to Perth Amboy and its residents. He also praised Mayor Diaz’s hard work over the past 7+ years in redevelopment and ethics reform.

“Being born and raised in Perth Amboy gives Wilda a unique perspective and love for this city and its people that is second to none. I have seen her take this city from the brinks of bankruptcy and state takeover to one that is prosperous and transparent,” said Sires. “During the time I worked with her, I saw her commitment to make this city a better place. Her tireless work in redeveloping blighted and contaminated areas has not only beautified the city, but has brought stable taxes and jobs for all of its residents. We can see the progress all around the city, from small businesses to large corporations now call Perth Amboy their home.”

“It takes not only hard work and dedication, but vision as well, and that is what I have always admired about Wilda. She is a visionary leader that is able to focus on the details of everyday life in Perth Amboy, but never loses sight of the big picture and her long-term goals to make the city a better place.
